Midtown stabbing during brazen daytime robbery attempt leaves man wounded

A man was stabbed during a brazen daytime robbery in Midtown on Wednesday afternoon.

Law enforcement sources said the violent encounter happened at about 12:31 p.m. on April 9 on West 32nd Street near 6th Avenue in the Garment District.

Officers from the Midtown South Precinct found the victim, a 33-year-old man, stabbed multiple times at the location.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police learned that an unidentified assailant shoved and stabbed the victim, then forcibly removed money from him and fled in an unknown direction.

EMS rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Meantime, detectives are still on the hunt for the stabbing suspect. No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
