At age 91, Eddie Rich is the last surviving original lead singer from the early rhythm & Blues vocal groups of the early 1950s. Eddie and the Swallows (Leroy Miller, William “Til” George, Johnny Robinson, Bryant Robinson) returned to performing for the first time after the pandemic on October 16, 2022 at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Opening their set with “Oh Lonesome Me”, Eddie staged his wheelchair entrance as a joke, alluding to his advanced age.
