Actor accused of blinding NJ woman who tried to merge outside Stockton University – NBC New York

The son of a New Jersey woman left visually impaired following a violent road rage incident says he wants justice against the man accused of shooting her after attempting to merge lanes.

“I just want justice, that’s all I want, justice. Lock him up and don’t let him out,” Victor Feliz-Arias said. The man’s mother, Maritza Arias, was shot on Sept. 11 near Stockton University in Galloway Township.

According to court records, a driver raced ahead of Martiza’s car and cut her off at Jimmie Leeds Road and Vera King Farris Drive. The mother of three passed him, then told investigators the guy pulled up next to her at an intersection outside the entrance of Stockton University.

Victor Feliz-Arias spoke with NBC10 about the road rage shooting that injured his mother in Galloway Township. NBC10’s Ted Greenberg has the exclusive

“He said, ‘I’m going to kill you today. Today, I’m gonna take care of you.’ That’s, that’s what she told me he said,” Feliz-Arias recounted Friday. “She put the window up and he shot out the window anyways.”

Authorities said the suspect drove off following the shooting, his escape route entering Stockton’s campus. That prompted an hours-long lockdown. Police eventually tracked down and arrested Heinz.

“We’re really thankful she’s still alive with God, because we know God will save her,” Feliz-Arias said.

He said it’s too soon to tell if his mom will regain any vision in her eye.

“I just want justice, that’s all I want, justice. Lock him up and don’t let him out,” Feliz-Arias said.

Over the past decade, there’s been an alarming spike in road rage shooting incidents across the U.S.; a more than 400% increase between 2014 and last year.

According to his IMDB page, Heinz is an actor and producer who had minor or uncredited roles in several films and television shows, including “J. Edgar,” “The Prestige,” and an episode of “The Sopranos” in which he played a thief.

His IMDB page also states he is a cousin of Martin Richards, the late Hollywood film producer whose credits included “The Shining” and “Chicago.”
