One UI 6.1 with Galaxy AI for S23 family, Fold5 and Flip5 arrives this week

Samsung’s big AI-infused One UI 6.1 update is almost ready to make it to last year’s top of the line devices. The company has already announced that all of the AI features that launched with the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra back in January will be ported to the Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Z Flip5, and Z Fold5.

This update is now scheduled to roll out on March 28, which is this coming Thursday. The rollout may not start globally on the same day, but it will at least take place in several territories, as evidenced by notifications received by owners of the aforementioned devices.

Furthermore, following a confirmation of the date by Samsung Korea last week, now Samsung China is basically saying that March 28 is indeed the big day. Samsung Korea in the meantime reiterated the date in a response to users on its community forums, and suggested that the Galaxy S23 FE will be part of the first wave – unlike what’s usually happened so far with such updates, when the FE model(s) would get them a bit later.

Considering how update rollouts generally work, it may be April before One UI 6.1 has rolled out to all eligible devices across the world, but it definitely seems like the ball will start rolling later this week.
